A Magical Christmas

This is the view in my backyard this morning after a Christmas Eve winter storm.  It's not much but it is just enough to define it as a white Christmas....the first white Christmas in the Dallas area since 1926.  What a gift!

Our tree right before the kids opened their Santa gifts.  Yeppers....the kids still believe *wink* in Santa!  Please don't tell them....I am not sure how many Christmas's I have left before they figure out it is actually me and not Santa!  And someday I will have a new lens which will allow me to take better indoor pictures, but for now you can't see the twinkling lights or the Bokeh that I would be able to capture.  A new house would be nice too, for better lighting and a better layout but I will put that one at the bottom of the list for now.  We are blessed to have a warm home that protects us.

And you all know who this is.  This is whom I famously call "Angelface" though sometimes she isn't all that angelic but ho-hum....we all have our days and I will be the first in line to admit as such.

A little prezzie I made for my sissy...a butterfly baby.  I had so much fun making my butterfly boxes.  Stephanie Rubiano really knows how to teach a class.  Remember this adorable box?  I had to make one for my sister because she truly is 'one bright star' in my book.

A couple close ups.

I am addicted to making these little beauties.  I must get myself some supplies because cutting out the wood people is so therapeutic and the detail is so intricate that it has almost a zombie-effect on me.  I move into another world when I trim anything.

I guess I'll be continuing to work like a crazy person because I still have a lot of things on my "want" list so that I can continue to create, like supplies to make the above boxes consisting a jewelers saw and several other goodies as well as all the new yummies that Tim Holtz has given us a preview of that will be available after the winter CHA in January.  Things like new Distress Ink colors seen here and his own line of Sizzix dies called Alterations seen here and here as well as bunches of other goodness like additions to his Idea-ology line that I will most certainly need to have.  Creative genius!  I've got many ideas floating around in my head and I've been better at writing them down so I can refer back to them instead of thinking I will remember because let's be honest....I never do.  If I can ever make the transition from working a little less so I can work more on other things that might help but for now I will just take one day at a time and try to do the best I can because I am only one person and one person can only do so much.  The wheels are always churning.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
