Fly away little butterfly....fly

"She suddenly was aware of a little speck of dust."

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of taking a very special class by an incredibly wonderful teacher.  That's right, the fabulous, very sweet and talented Stephanie Rubiano drove North to spend a weekend teaching some of her wonderful techniques to some very excited participants.  Stephanie was a wealth of good info and a super teacher.  I'm ready to spend some time with a jewelers saw cutting out adorable vintage kiddies for the slew of ideas rumbling around in my head.  And do you see those beautiful butterfly wings?  Oh yeah, they are real and they are stunning!  This little butterfly girl, she is so me, isn't she?

I know, I know, the photo doesn't do my project justice but I was in a hurry to snap a shot and share the completed project though if you click on the photo you can see a larger version and actually read the words on her dress.  There are a few cool parts to this project that just sort of morphed into the end result ~ one being the little girl actually looks like she is flicking a little piece of dust off her dress which Stephanie brought to my attention, and the second was that I had intended to cut her crown upside down, just for something different, but I actually screwed it up and cut it right side up which then gives me the words 'for cleaning' right above the miniatures screws which totally works. They would have been cut off had I not inadvertently trimmed the crown the way I intended.  And if you know me you know why this little butterfly girlie is totally me!
