celebration day

Another year has passed us by and now my baby boy is officially 17 years old.  In just two days he'll be off to his senior year of high school.  Fortunately my sweet Angelface has a protective brother who will be there with her as she enters her freshman year.  I'm confident he'll show her the ropes and keep the boys at bay, teaching her all she needs to know before he heads off to college and she is left alone to finish out her high school years.

As I was thinking back on the day I delivered this sweet boy, and the awesome story behind it, I also remembered all the wonderful memories I have of him throughout his childhood as he has grown.  God truly knew what he was doing when he brought me the best son a mom could ever have.  He's loving, thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate, smart, funny, articulate, brave, responsible and oh such a special soul.  It's hard to even grasp the fact that he's now 17.  Where, oh where, did the time go?  I never believed anyone who told me just how quickly the time passes but truly it does. 

I'm off to spend the day with my family as we celebrate my sweet boy's birthday.  Let the party begin.
