happy December 1st

It's been a very busy day around here and we've started out December with a bang!

Early this afternoon I had an absolutely amazing gift bestowed upon me, an early Christmas gift.  All I can say is that I so don't deserve it and there are not enough words I can say to be able to thank her properly but what I do know is that I have got to be the most blessed girl because I have the dearest and most wonderful friends a girl could ever dream of having.  Friends who are there for me, who support me, who love me and accept me for who I am despite my faults and quirks.  Having girlfriends that just 'get' you is a rarity and it's such a wonderful feeling to have a handful of them that are just that. 

We headed down to Watters Creek this evening, just the Mini-Me, hubby and I and caught many glimpses of things like this:

It's always gorgeous down there but this time of the year it's stunning.  It's one of my most favorite places to be, to shop and to eat.  Best part about it is that it's so close to the house.

We then came home to help one sweet little girl with her wish of putting lights on the house again.  It's been a few years since we've actually done it and she's been the driving force behind it.  Lucky for her she's got Eric wrapped around her little finger, even if she doesn't realize it.  I purchased the 100' strand at the local hardware store (I totally love hardware stores) and she chose the bulbs, red and white transparent, which she placed in all 100 sockets tonight.  Tomorrow we will hang them and also decorate the bushes and entry way.

She told me next year she wants green and white.  We'll have to see what goes on sale after Christmas.  If she's willing to change out the bulbs we just may have to change it up a bit!
